Biography

Huang Jinhua completed graduate study in literature-and-arts broadcasting and directing at Beijing Broadcasting Institute, now Communication University of China, and remained there to teach after graduating in 1990. In 1993, Huang helped establish the broadcasting and television literature major, later renamed Drama, Film and Television Literature and recognized among the first national first-class majors in the field.

Teaching responsibilities included scriptwriting, short-film production, documentary creation, work analysis, and fiction studies. As a master’s supervisor in drama, film, and television literature, Huang guided more than ten graduate students who later became professional screenwriters.
