Biography

Li Jianshi graduated from Tianjin Conservatory of Music in 1986 with a specialization in banhu. Professional affiliations included the Chinese Musicians Association, China Nationalities Orchestra Society, Chinese Erhu Society, and music organizations in Shanxi, where Li held membership, council, examination, and vice-presidential responsibilities.

In 1987, Li won first prize in the Shanxi division of a Chinese folk-arts festival competition. International exchanges included the United States, Canada, Egypt, Japan, and several European countries, and Li received a gold medal at the thirtieth International Art Festival in Schoten, Belgium.

Representative compositions included Autumn Colours of Yanshan, Song of the Coal Miners, and The Story of Xigengtian, together with additional instrumental works.
