Biography
Tian Jie began learning erhu at age six with Yang Zhongcai. In 2000, Tian entered Shanxi Vocational College of Art with the top professional entrance result and studied with Ren Cailian. In 2005, Tian entered the Central Conservatory of Music’s undergraduate erhu program to study with Xue Ke.
During conservatory study, Tian performed and recorded with the Central Conservatory China Youth Chinese Orchestra and appeared in seasons of the China Broadcasting Chinese Orchestra and China National Traditional Orchestra. After graduating in 2009, Tian joined the Macao Chinese Orchestra and portrayed and performed the role of Abing in Musical Adventure under conductor Kuok Man-kei.
